High Performance Music at Murrumba State Secondary College is designed to attract musically and academically talented students in our district and surrounds with the purpose of establishing a single High Performance Music Class each year.
Students in the program study a core curriculum of English, Mathematics, Science and SOSE, and also receive additional classroom lessons of High Performance Music per week in Years 7 - 10. Students then continue on to Senior Music for Years 11 and 12. Additionally, students will participate in the Instrumental and Vocal Music program by undertaking weekly lessons and participating in College Music ensembles such as Wind Ensemble, String Ensemble, Stage Band and The Murrumba Singers.
High Performance Music students will not only demonstrate a very high level of commitment to their Music studies, but will be expected to participate in sporting, academic, cultural and leadership programs at the College.
