Program Philosophy
Murrumba State Secondary College offers
talented students a Footballing pathway through their Secondary schooling. Academy
members undertake the Football Academy as a timetabled component of their
studies complementing their quality learning in the core curriculum subjects.
The Football Academy provides high quality opportunities and professional pathways for the development of footballers and capable community members.
The Academy provides students with numerous
opportunities to represent the College in both Football and Futsal, as well as
Queensland School Sport representation (District, Metropolitan, State and
National level).
The Football Academy is proudly affiliated with
the Brisbane Roar, Football Queensland, TAFE QLD Academy of Sport, Schools
Premier League, Statewide Sports, contacts at local clubs, as well as
sponsorship with Hayden Owens of Ray White Real Estate.

MSSC Course Aims
The aim of the Football Academy is to develop the students into holistic footballers while also emphasising the importance of succeeding academically and producing exemplary behaviour in all College activities. The Football Academy achieves its aim by hiring qualified coaches/teachers, as well as exposing the players to sessions including: fielding, indoor futsal, strength and conditioning, match-specific conditioning, sports psychology, video analysis, Goalkeeper specific training.
VET Information
Through senior schooling the college, along with the Football Academy offer Certificate Courses through TAFE QLD Academy of Sport. These include Cert
II Sport Coaching (Course Code: SIS20321) and Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation (Course Code: 30122). Enrolment in the Certificate may require an additional fee. Each certificate is completed over 1 year.
