Murrumba State Secondary College held its annual ANZAC Day Commemoration Service on Wednesday 24 April. The 25th April marks the anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli by ANZAC troops in 1915. Like hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens who will gather this week at memorials across the country, our College gathered together to commemorate the most significant day in our national calendar.
The service was attended by students in Years 7, 9, 11, the College administration team and special guests, Warrant Officer Aaron Barnett; President of the Pine Rivers RSL Sub Branch, Mrs Margaret Lord; Mr. Craig McLaughlan who represented The Honourable Peter Dutton, Federal Member for Dickson and Minister for Immigration and Border Protection; Mr. Anthony Marozza who represented President of the P & C, Mr. Andrew Biri and Ms. Rachel Smith who represented the Honourable Steven Miles – Member for Murrumba and Minister for Health & Ambulance Services.
The service was led by our Year 12 College Captains and our Year 11 leaders who spoke beautifully and remained composed throughout the very moving service.
