Swimming Carnival

Our carnivals at Murrumba just get bigger and better, and this year was certainly no exception. Week 2 saw our students competing in our third and largest MSSC swimming carnival at our neighbouring Murrumba Downs pool. It was a fantastic day enjoyed immensely by all involved. Our students were nothing short of inspirational and certainly set the scene for a great day with the lead-up work they had done in house meetings on motivation and war cries. The competition was friendly but fierce and house spirit was inescapable. One of the most satisfying aspects was seeing both competitive swimmers and those just prepared to give it a go, turning up time after time to earn points for their houses. There was something for everyone and it was very pleasing to see everyone respond to the challenge so earnestly. In the end Blackburn emerged triumphant but that does not tell the complete story. I my mind, everyone who attended the day was a winner!

Congratulations to Carnival Coordinator, Jared Bullock and Sportsmaster, Alistair Watt for all of their hard work leading up to a very successful carnival. Thankyou also all of our wonderful staff who once again approached the day with gusto and enjoyed themselves every bit as much as our students did.
